Producer Management

Producers (also called agents or agencies) are the distribution partners who submit applications and manage client relationships. LAMS tracks each producer’s contact information, commission structure, state licenses, and E&O coverage. A producer must be active with a valid license before they can be assigned to a new application.

Producers must hold an active license in each state where they submit applications. LAMS validates the license before allowing a producer to be assigned to a policy.

  1. Open the producer record.
  2. Navigate to the Licenses tab.
  3. Click Add License.
  4. Select the state.
  5. Enter the license number and expiration date.
  6. Click Save.

  • The system alerts the producer and administrator 10 days before a license expires.
  • A follow-up reminder is sent after the expiration date if the license has not been renewed.
  • Producers with an expired license cannot be assigned to new applications until the license is updated.

If you are onboarding many producers at once, contact your administrator to use the bulk license import feature.

The E&O tab on each producer record tracks:

  • E&O policy number
  • Carrier name
  • Coverage limits
  • Expiration date

Keep this information current — the system does not block E&O expiration automatically, but underwriters should verify it before binding.

  1. Open the producer record.
  2. Click Inactivate.
  3. Enter the inactivation date and reason.
  4. Click Confirm.

Once inactivated:

  • The producer cannot receive new business assignments.
  • Existing policies remain active and are not affected.
  • Renewal solicitations stop for this producer.
  • Historical data remains accessible for reporting.

If a producer is inactivated or a book of business is reassigned:

  1. Select the policies to transfer from the producer’s policy list.
  2. Choose the new producer.
  3. Enter the transfer reason.
  4. Click Process Transfer.
  5. Both producers receive a notification of the transfer.
