Order to Issue (OTI)
Overview
Section titled “Overview”The Order to Issue (OTI) is a mandatory five-step checklist that confirms all binding requirements are satisfied before LAMS issues a policy number. You must complete all five steps before the policy can move to In Force status.

The Five OTI Questions

Work through each question in order. Check the box and record the date when each condition is satisfied.

| 2 | Did we receive a written bind request? | Confirmation from the insured or producer in writing (email or signed form) |

| 4 | Has the policy been received and sent to the insured or producer? | Policy documents have been generated and delivered |

Completing the OTI
Section titled “Completing the OTI”- Open the application and navigate to the Order to Issue tab.
- For each question, verify the condition is met.
- Check the box and enter the date for each completed step.
- Once all five are checked, click Issue Policy.
- The system assigns a policy number and moves the policy to In Force status.
- Policy documents are generated and sent automatically.
After Issuance
Section titled “After Issuance”When OTI is complete and the policy is issued:
- A policy number is assigned from the pre-allocated pool.
- The policy status changes from Payment Pending to In Force.
- Policy documents (declarations page, policy form, and any endorsements) are generated.
- The booking entry is created in Accounting.
- A confirmation email is sent to the producer.
OTI for Mid-Term Endorsements
Section titled “OTI for Mid-Term Endorsements”Mid-term changes that add premium also follow an OTI-like process:
- Validate that the carrier’s endorsement requirements are met.
- Confirm additional premium payment has been received (if applicable).
- Generate and deliver the endorsement documents.
- Update the policy record.
