Application Entry
Overview
Section titled “Overview”Application entry is the first step in processing a new submission. You collect the applicant’s information, assign a producer and underwriter, and enter the policy dates. Once the application is saved, it moves to the rating step.
Before You Begin
Section titled “Before You Begin”Make sure you have the following ready before starting:
- The completed application form from the producer
- The producer must be active in LAMS with a valid license in the policy state
- The line of business and state must be eligible for coverage
Step 1: Start a New Application
Section titled “Step 1: Start a New Application”New Application button on the policy search screen or dashboard
- From the top navigation, click New Business then New Application.
- Select the Line of Business from the dropdown (e.g., Accountants Standard, Real Estate Standard).
- Select the State where the applicant operates.
- Click Continue.
The system will validate that coverage is available for the selected line of business and state before proceeding.
Step 2: Enter Client Information

Fill in the applicant’s details:

Step 3: Enter Policy Dates

Step 4: Assign Producer and Underwriter

- Producer — Search by name or code. The producer must have an active license in the selected state.
- Underwriter — Select the staff member who will be responsible for processing this application.
Step 5: Enter Underwriting Information

Accountants (Standard and Express)
Section titled “Accountants (Standard and Express)”| Field | Description |

| Gross Revenue | Total firm revenue for the most recent fiscal year |
| Full-time CPAs | Number of licensed CPAs working full time |
| Part-time CPAs | Number of licensed CPAs working part time |

| Prior Disciplinary Actions | Any state board or professional disciplinary history |
| 5-Year Claims History | Prior claims — describe each with date, amount, and status |
Real Estate (Standard and Express)

Appraisers (Express)

Lawyers and Miscellaneous
Section titled “Lawyers and Miscellaneous”Enter the attorney count, areas of practice, and any prior claims history.
Saving the Application
Section titled “Saving the Application”Once all required fields are complete, click Save Application. The application is now in Received status and ready for guidelines validation and rating.
