Global Search
Overview
Section titled “Overview”The LAMS global search lets you find any policy, application, insured, or producer record from a single search interface. Rather than navigating through menu sections to find a specific record, you can jump directly to any record by searching for a policy number, insured name, producer name, or application reference.

Accessing the Search

The search bar is available from any screen in LAMS:
- Header search bar — available at the top of every screen; press Enter or click the search icon to run the search.
- Dedicated search screen — navigate to Search > Policy Search for advanced filtering options and a full results table.
What You Can Search For

| Policy number | Exact policy, including expired and cancelled policies |
| Insured name | All policies and applications for that insured |
| Producer name or code | Producer record and all associated policies |
| Application number | Specific application (pre-bind) |
| FEIN or SSN | Insured record (useful when name is uncertain) |
Search Syntax
Section titled “Search Syntax”- Partial name: Enter part of the name (e.g.,
Acmereturns “Acme Consulting”, “Acme Law Group”, etc.) - Policy number: Enter the full or partial policy number (e.g.,
2024-001finds all policies with that prefix) - Producer code: Enter the producer’s LAMS code (e.g.,
PRD-0042) - FEIN: Enter numbers only, no dashes (e.g.,
123456789)
Reading the Results Table

The results table shows:

Filtering and Sorting Results
Section titled “Filtering and Sorting Results”- Use the column headers to sort results ascending or descending.
- Click the Filters button to apply additional filters:
- Record Type: Show only policies, only applications, or only producers
- Status: Filter by active, cancelled, expired, etc.
- LOB: Narrow to a specific product line
- Date Range: Filter by effective date or entry date
- The results update in real time as filters are applied.
Opening a Record from Search Results
Section titled “Opening a Record from Search Results”- Locate the record you need in the results table.
- Click anywhere in the row to open the full record.
- The policy, application, or producer record opens in the main view.
Quick Actions from Search Results
Section titled “Quick Actions from Search Results”For policy records, you can take quick actions without fully opening the record:
- Hover over a policy row to see a mini-action menu.
- Quick actions include: View Documents, New Endorsement, View Activity Log.
Tips for Finding Records
Section titled “Tips for Finding Records”- If you cannot find a policy by name, try the insured’s FEIN or the policy number.
- Cancelled and expired policies are included in search results by default. Filter by Active status if you want only current policies.
- Producer searches return the producer record first, then all associated policies. Click the producer record to see their full portfolio.
- If you need to find a specific endorsement or mid-term change, open the policy first and navigate to the Endorsements tab.
