General Ledger Report

The General Ledger (GL) report shows every financial transaction posted to each account for a given period. Use it to verify that your books balance, to investigate unusual activity, and to prepare period-end financial statements.

Go to Reports > General Ledger from the main menu.

Account RangeSpecific account numbers or all accounts
Account GroupAssets, Liabilities, Equity, Revenue, or Expenses

Click Run Report after setting your filters.

Each row represents one account:

Account NumberGeneral ledger account number
Account NameDescription of the account
Opening BalanceBalance at the start of the period
DebitsTotal debits posted this period
CreditsTotal credits posted this period
Closing BalanceBalance at the end of the period

Click any row to drill down and see the individual transactions that make up that account’s activity for the period.

Click Export to Excel to download the GL report for period-end close or audit use.
