General Ledger Report
Overview
Section titled “Overview”The General Ledger (GL) report shows every financial transaction posted to each account for a given period. Use it to verify that your books balance, to investigate unusual activity, and to prepare period-end financial statements.
Navigating to the GL Report

Go to Reports > General Ledger from the main menu.
Filtering the Report

| Filter | Options |
|---|---|
| Fiscal Year | Current year or prior years |
| Period | Monthly, quarterly, or annual |
| Account Range | Specific account numbers or all accounts |
| Account Group | Assets, Liabilities, Equity, Revenue, or Expenses |
Click Run Report after setting your filters.
Reading the Results

Each row represents one account:

| Account Number | General ledger account number |
| Account Name | Description of the account |
| Opening Balance | Balance at the start of the period |
| Debits | Total debits posted this period |
| Credits | Total credits posted this period |
| Closing Balance | Balance at the end of the period |
Click any row to drill down and see the individual transactions that make up that account’s activity for the period.
Exporting
Section titled “Exporting”Click Export to Excel to download the GL report for period-end close or audit use.
